Lots of folk use Tomorite to feed their spuds as it is low in nitrogen but high in potassium. I have always used low nitrogen Chempak no 8 because I thought that they needed Phosphorus as well for root and tuber growth (NPK 12.5:25:25). Am I wrong?

My old Dad used to plant his seed potatoes in trenches filled with cow manure from the local farmers barns which was a mix of straw bedding and cow poop.
He'd dig his trench put 4" of muck in it, pop seed potato directly onto muck and cover with soil, and apart from watering now and again, he just left them to it and always had great crops.

we use a balance fertilizer usually Growmore we have used a potato fertilizer in the past as said its low in nitrogen more a potash based but we found it a bit costly so we went back to Growmore on last years potato crop that turned out good  but as we where a bit late planting potatoes this year I'm not sure how they will turn out we did add fertilizer to the planting ?

My old Dad used to cut up the seed spuds and dust the cut with Flowers of Sulphur to make them go further.

As I made the planting hole ( more scrape in my no dig beds to be honest) I added a small handful of chicken manure pellets. On 1 of my earthing  up I covered the whole bed in chopped up comfrey. Another time grass clippings , These were alternated with homemade garden compost
