Harvesting elephant garlic
« on: June 30, 2023, 20:48 »
After some advice. First time growing garlic and sowed elephant garlic last year. I just dug one up to check if now is the right time for harvesting. I’ve read about bottom leaves going brown but the plants haven’t looked that healthy for quite a while!

Does this look ready to go? Am I too early or too late!?

Perhaps a little early I let my normal garlic die back a bit more than that before harvesting. Having said that it is probably time for me to be harvesting too!
Keep digging

Very close but no quite. I base it on the leaves looking a bit browner.
