Dear gardeners,

I bought strawberry plants in spring that would produce big stawberries called Maxfruct. But so far the strawberries have been very small. I took all the step for good soil, didn’t over fertilise and made sure the ground wasn’t drying out too much. Can someone tell me why they are small and crop is disappointing?

If they're growing strongly and look healthy, it's probably just because they're in their first year (I have seen it recommended to remove all flowers the first year to allow them to put their energy into becoming established, although I don't know how many strawberry lovers actually follow that advice!  )
