Hi All!
I planted runner bean & pea plants 3 weeks ago as well as direct sown peas, they were coming along nicely healthy plants, the planted peas & runners were 12 inches high and the direct sown peas were a couple of inches high. We have rabbits so they are planted in raised beds with netting secured around 3 foot high which is still in tact. This morning i would say 90% of them have gone, runners are just stalks, directly down peas also stalks & the bigger pea plants have been devoured  The sweet peas also in the same bed are untouched? Any ideas on the likely cause?

It may well be slugs or snails.  Peas are also beloved by pigeons, who will peck them down to nothing.

As they have been decimated, I would also go for pidgeons.   Cheers,  Tony.

WOW we do see 1 pigeon it nests in our hawthorn tree, has done for 3 years (assuming its the same one  ) never had any issue with peas or beans before under pea sticks, mainly the sweet peas with the slugs and rabbits hence the netting control. Thankfully i have more in the GH awaiting planting out which will go in fully enclosed.
