Tomatoes are us...
« on: April 17, 2023, 18:30 »
When the first three packets of 'Shirley' toms refused to show, an enfeebled, even concerned Growster rushed up to see the lovely lady at our local garden centre and bought three more packets of seed  as the compost was last year's and possibly a bit - er - composty...

Actually, she gave me three packets buckshee, as the rep was due that afternoon and they'd get a refund!

So, as is to be expected, the whole lot eventually germinated and we now have 129 tom plants!

Chums are getting phonecalls, texts, emails etc, and we only want about forty here, so who's going to get the lovely hugs and thankyous over the next few days...

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Seen several signs while out today outside people's houses saying 'tomatoes for sale, £1 each'.  Could be the next Growster Emporium money making project.  :D

Ha ha ha! Wine sur keyboard, Goosey...;0)

In fact one benefactress has asked me to join her in the bluebell woods nearby for a dog walk on Friday, so there's a fabulous result!

Mrs Growster is in amused agreement too, which worries me somewhat, as - er - she knows ya' know!

More on this when I get back from the bluebells (etc)., at the end of the week...

To the best of my knowledge, the end of the week is a Saturday and your dog walk in on the Friday so ... er...? Are you camping there overnight or what?  ::)

I'm getting a text around late morning on Friday, so will know the score around then...

I met another lovely dog-walking lady-chum this morning, and she said that the bluebells were well on their way, so the time must be right for me to start and think of England!

(Did I say 'score' earlier - must check..;0)

Did the walk, got the tee-shirt (ahem...), and I joined TWO ladies with their two dogs each, so eight of us veered off into the woods and got muddied up pretty damn well!

They're not quite out yet, (the bluebells that is), but I found parts that I never knew existed, and finished up in the garden of yet another lovely lady, who backs onto the wood! (not literally you understand)!

The whole walk took over two hours, and by golly, I slept well that afternoon night...

Fitbit said we'd done over 13,000 steps that day...:0~

Can you please give me some tips on how to find at least one nice man who I can have a walk in the woods with (BTW, not Bill Bryson) and preferably one who can stop me getting up to mischief by falling down into a hidden bear trap.
