Should I use unidentified manure?

Hello Everyone,

This morning at the allotment my husband and I came across two big piles of fresh (but not steaming) manure. There are horses in the area so we assume a horse wandered in. I don’t want to waste what might be a gardening treasure but I also don’t want to put my plants at risk by using manure of an unknown origin. Any advice? My thoughts so far are:

1) get rid of it
2) dig it into the ground where I plan to plant pumpkins in 3-4 months
3) add it to the compost heap?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Take it & as Mum says stack it out of the way somewhere, but I’d add turn it every month or so as if it is contaminated with amniopyralid that helps to dissipate it, but there’s nothing to say it is & you can always do ‘the bean test’ on it when it is a bit more rotted
