Bare Rooted Strawberries
« on: February 23, 2008, 21:17 »
Hi All.....

I've ordered some bare rooted strawberry plants that will be delivered early this week. Should I plant them up in pots and keep them in the coldframe/cold greenhouse for a while, or should I plant them out now and fleece them?

Thanks

If your soil is not waterlogged you can plant them out. :)

Strawberries are very cold hardy and as Gobs says, plant them out now. The fleece is best on them when the berries start turning pink. With fleece, you'll keep birds and such out of your crops before you can get them.
