not sure whether to be excited about a new bathroom or terrified
That really depends on if it's the only toilet in the house  :D

The (only) toilet in the house is separate from the bathroom. For now he is tackling the rest.

He did actually fit a new cistern to the toilet not so long ago and it went ok

Salmon fishcake with pots and coleslaw.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

An unsatisfying, despite it's size chicken dinner. I've already had cheese and crackers but I'm still not satisfied, something was missing. I should have made a pudding, something covered in custard given the weather.

We are having a slow food day here.  I had a couple of slices of belly pork left over from a recipe.  The rest is in the freezer already cubed and marinated ready to go into a curry I want to try.  These extra slices were also cubed and marinated overnight, but in garlic, chilli and herbs.

The pork, a couple of tins of chilli beans, some casserole veg starter base I made in bulk and froze tubs of, home dried tomatoes and mushrooms, a tin of tomatoes, more chilli, garlic, herbs and tomato purée are in the slow cooker blipping away.  I’ve also made sourdough this morning with chilli and herbs and that is rising slowly but surely.  I had leftover cabbage and carrots, so those are shredded in a bowl in the fridge with some chervil from the greenhouse and some home dried mint and will be made into a salad later.

The beans and bread will be more than enough to spit and freeze a fair bit for 1 or 2 more meals. I feel the warm glow of frugality, not wasting anything and the promise of a good meal later for not a lot of effort on my part  :)

It's a quilting day here, so tuna & sweetcorn in chilli mayo on a jacket potato with the usual dollop of coleslaw - easy-peasy  :)

Apparently we are making lasagne.  Paul's just arrived home with the makings thereof as he has decided that's what we're having.

There's chicken, chilli and mince beef & onions all cooked in the fridge and I have no idea what to do with any of it.   2 out of 3 will go with rice, so I suppose that's a start.

Got a zip bag out of the freezer that's labelled 'beef' doesn't look like mince, prob stewing steak. Whatever it is it's getting curried, to go with veggie rice and salad bits.
