Beef in black bean sauce with rice.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Soup weather!  I had a big pack of ham trim in the freezer (work freebie), so dragged that out, together with some sourdough red pesto and cheese bread I made a week or so ago.

The soup is a thick and chunky Italian inspired one, with veg, tomatoes, shelling beans from the plot and the chopped up ham. I also took out a couple of ‘ice cubes’ of greenhouse basil chopped in olive oil and added them at the end.

It can sit and all the ingredients can get to know each other for the day, before I re-heat it tonight   :)

I'm sure they'll all be best of friends and your kitchen aroma will rival that of MoS.

I'm on leftover fish pie - my kitchen doesn't smell so good  It made a nice change yesterday, even though I don't like fish. I wont be following the recipe again though, nowhere near enough mash spud to cover the sauce and it really needed some sliced boiled eggs in it like Mother Lard used to do.

I like eggs in fish pie as well. OH had never had that before and was dubious the first time it appeared on his plate, but they go so well with smoked fish.

He misses the eggs now if I leave them out and feels hard done by  ::)

I too also put eggs in my fish pie, together with spinach.  I'll always remember my four year old grandaughter eating our fish pie and saying 'this is the best thing I've ever eaten, I don't know why they don't give it to me at home'.  The look on Claire's face was priceless!  Both Claire and Pete (her parents) have four years training as  pastry chefs on their cv's.

Babysitting the munchkins this evening so I’ll take mine with me and have after they’re all in bed, fingers crossed I’ll get it before my son comes home  - a turkey curry ftf with a packet of microwave rice, might even muster up a couple of puppadums

A little change to the above, found a dish of cold cooked rice & some veg in the fridge so will use that up instead of the packet of rice…waste not want not.

Well that went well….turned out to be a chilli, so was a tad odd with sliced banana, mango chutney & puppadums, didn’t realise til I tasted it  then checked the label, but that was what I’d taken so that’s what it had to be.

Tonight
Tough sirloin steak from the farm shop  :( lyonnaise potatoes, peas, carrots & broccoli, fried mushrooms, but I was just too tired & unlike me left half of it.

Nope - definitely not. Id hazard a guess that was more than a tad odd !

I have curry munchies but it's pork chops today and given the weather mash, mixed veggies and spoonstanding will also be required.

Rst chicken, rst potatoes, swede and ratatouille  from a tin.  I'm going through a 'can't eat' phase' which I do every now and again.   Paul's used to it, and doesn't force me to eat as he knows in two or three days I'll over eat.   I can't help it.

Leftover pork chop - by the time they were defrosted and cooked they were more like schnitzel than chops.
