Village Christmas market tonight, so will be a turkey & stuffing cob in a local church hall & maybe mulled wine elsewhere, coffee at another venue & a cake from the community library cake stall perhaps, maybe even a few stolen chips from the grandchildren’s bag of chips

Battered cod, chips, peas for me and the other half of the carrot for Paul as he can't digest peas!

It really feels like pie and chips weather. I was going to put some breaded cod with them but I think I'd only be searching around for more later.

It’s one of my favourites. I often slow cook a couple of lbs mince & onion & then freeze it in portions. I make it in to various meals then, bolognaise, chilli, pie etc.

I enjoy it far less with supermarket minced beef  :( which really isn't good if you just slow cook it, it just turns to paste. I really should make the time to visit the butchers again.

Probably leftovers today, especially if I keep forgetting to put the chicken in the slow cooker  ::)

I buy very little supermarket meat tbh. Mostly it’s from 1 of 2 farm shops I go to. It’s pricey but I adjust quantities to reflect that. Went on Friday & got 2 packs of steak mince, 1.750kg for £19. Divided it up into 9 packs. Each pack will do us both so 18 meals, so just over £1.

Daughter & partner coming for dinner later to celebrate hubbys birthday & our wedding anniversary so
Roast beef, potatoes, parsnips. Carrots, peas, cauliflower cheese & oven roasted leeks. Plenty of good beef gravy to drench it in oh & of course Yorkshire puds, of which I will have 1 with gravy to start with.
Then there’s a freshly baked lemon drizzle cake topped with lemoncello, should anyone want any
