I used to listen to him while driving around on Fridays, (I think), on GQT, and he was a great professional, with firm views! He'd probaby have hated the way gardening is portrayed these days!
When you can remember his name, togther with Peter Seabrook, Professor Alan Gemmell, (whom I didn't know, always disagreed with Bill Sowerbutts), Stefan Buczacki, (who was the only person I ever heard who could prononce 'Fenitrothian' correctly), and Bob Flowerdew, I'm also reminded of my first ever gardening book which was Percy Thrower's tome! All these names were legend!
I don't bother listening or watching any more, there's much more detail online - and here of course!
