Boskoops glory
« on: September 01, 2022, 12:18 »
Hi, this is a grape vine Boskoops glory that I've had for about 7 years. Last year I dug it up and moved it to its current location which is in full sun most of the day. This year I got plenty of leaves but only one small bunch of grapes. The vine splits into 2 trunks at ground level in the centre of the picture. One goes left and one right. How should I now train and prune it for best results ?

I've had one of these for 3-4 years. I grow it in a mini polytunnel with the roots outside. I got nothing much the first year, but have had some decent bunches since. This year was so hot that I got loads of small grapes. However, every November I cut it back to the first bud. I also dump a can of water on it once a week in summer. As for training, it , I let it go wild in the PT, which is  quite small (6 ft x 3ft ish). I couldn't make the espalier work as I couldn't get inside and it was too hot anyway.
