Onion seedling disappearing
« on: May 14, 2022, 06:52 »
I planted my onion seedlings out in soil that had had manure spread over it in winter. I have lost about 80% of them, just disappeared. Is it birds that have enjoyed the green shoots or could it be that it was the manure that caused them to die?  Appreciate any advice . TIA

I think it would be birds, here, they often pick at anything newly planted, pesky little blighters!
I usually throw some light netting over them until they are strongly rooted
