potato variety ?

 when we went to the garden centre yesterday I was told they where selling of there seed potatoes and although  I had already bought my seed potatoes I couldn't resist buying some more seed potatoes as they where on offer all that was left was pink fire apple that I didn't need and there where 3 bags of a variety I've never heard of called [organic] pink gypsy has anyone heard of this variety and have you grew ?

Have seen the Pink Gypsy maincrop for sale in the distant past.
Was never tempted, but not seen them recently.

I have tried Manitou (main crop) in the past and was very impressed with it, but it doesn't seem to be so easy to get the seed.  It's a large, pink/red and white skinned potato which, for me, cropped extremely well and provided large tubers.  Much, much superior to Cara.

Manitou is available from Taylors.
I always buy Taylors or Unwin potatoes from my Garden centre in January and saw it there earlier this year.
have looked at too in previous recent years.
Just done a quick google search 'Manitou seed potatoes' and found it in stock in a number of places at £4.99 and £3.99 for a 2kg bag.

for those of you that are interested in hearing how my pink gypsy performs Ill keep you posted when there lifted at the end of the season as said there new to me  :unsure:

I grew Pink Gypsy 3 years ago.  It was ok, but I didn't find the yield particularly good.  They had some slug damage too. Hope you fare better!
