yep I'm here too. Well done with your plot,it's really come along in a short time. You must be dead proud of your spuds and strawbs. No spuds from mine yet and only two strawbs so far. Very delish though  :D

LOVE THIS THREAD!!!!

Just read it all from beginning to end and loved it! I wish i had an allotment... I know it's hard work and all but it looks so rewarding! I have a patch at home and i knew i would fill it but i didn't realise how quickly i would fill it! I have no room for my celeriac now..  :(  Maybe i will sacrifice a section of flower border for these.. other half won't be happy but hey..

I really like the updates and dont post on the thread as it makes it easier if they are predominantly your posts as a type of blog to your lotty.

Thanks Jack, to be honest i like it when people comment.

This is our first year and we are on a steep learning curve so any advise to help us along the way is greatly received. Im always open to ideas and if i am doing something wrong then i would sooner be put right.

Cheers all! Glen

Hi Glen,

What an inspiration you are!  I envy what you have achieved - I wish my plot was half as good as yours!

Well done, and keep up the good work!  And keep the pics coming!

Cheers

Thanks Gaz, although i am kinda flattered by your comments mate!

Like i have mentioned before i was very lucky to inherit a plot that was only given up the month before we got it. It had also been used the year before so the soil was of a very good quality.

Also, alot of credit goes to my father-in-law who has been a trojan when it comes to manual work and also knows his stuff when it comes to growing veg etc. He is the one day in day out who gets to the plot religiously to weed and water etc. Unfortunately my job simply does not allow me the time and without his help it would not look like it does. Maybe i should put his services up for hire?

Hmmm now theres a thought............................ :D

Heres a quick picture update for you taken this morning whilst at the allotment collecting a Cabbage and some Rosemary for our dinner!

Runner Beans are all starting to flower.

Some have reached the top of the canes!

Mr Cuecumber is filling out nicely!

The Peas are looking good!

Were starting to munch through our earlies!

Carrots are getting tall!

My Garlic stalks are starting to turn yellow, cant wait to harvest this!

Our Redcurrants are now starting to get their colour.

Our 'Turbo' Onions are looking good!

I love the way the raindrops sit on the Sprout leaves.

Mange Tout Rodney!

Blimey Swedes grow fast!

Thanks for looking!

Amazing thread Glen.  Have just read it through and I am so impressed.  You have achieved so much in such a short space of time.  Keep the pictures coming as they are an inspiration.

How is your little girl enjoying the lovely fresh food that Daddy has grown?  What an education for her!  Bet she is the most healthy child in her class.
 :)
Keep going.

Your peas and onions are looking great :-)

Swedes grow fast and get really big! Im shocked how big they get, I now know for spacing next year  :? Liking the "mange too Rodney" I always think that myself!
