Yes i know what you mean, 'i'll be leaving in half an hour' is my usual response to the text message and the usual greeting when i get home is 'well that was the longest half an hour in history'

Well i have been amazed at the amount of time my Mrs has asked me "are you going to the lotty?"

Why cant she say the same about the pub?

Because you can't take 'the boss' to the lotty.
Like the others I have enjoyed your pictures and updates. I am also jealous because it is still too cold and wet to get anything done here.  :(

Thanks for your kind comments!

I have not been to the plot this week as i have been suffering with the dreaded man flu, but popped over this morning to have a good look round and grab a few update snaps.

Main crop of Spuds are in.

My Strawberries dont seem to be doing much, fingers crossed the warm weather hurries up.

My Onions are now shooting well.

My Lettuices are starting to emerge!

Mr Rhubarb is going great guns.

My Gooseberry bushed are really filling out.

The Greenguage Tree is in bloom.

My Carrots are also just starting to poke through. Thought i had lost these in the frosts.

My Garlics are doing really well considering they were put in a little late.

Finally, my Cabbages are showing a few yellow lower leafs. Maybe you can let me know whats caused this?

Thanks Glen

Hi Glen, hate to disappoint you but they ain't carrots but carrots can take a while to come up esp. when it has been this cold so you may see them yet, cotyledons are long and thin.

Yellow leaves on brassicas is normal don't worry the older leaves naturally die off, they have had a bit of frost, slugs etc.

My strawbs look just like yours, new growth just coming so they will really move when it warms up.

PS - get rid of that creeping buttercup near your rhubarb as it spreads by underground rhizomes and it it gets in amongst your rhubarb it will be much more difficult to get rid of.

Thanks for the advice Cawdor, were still learning here so any advice is greatly appreciated. I was thinking of putting another trench of Carrots in, but i will wait a while to see if these emerge first before i give up on them.

Hi Glen

Nice work, love to see pictures on threads, I took pictures of our allotment  last year and its great to look back at your progress and see how it develops, thought about putting some pictures on this site but didn't think people would be interested but judging by the response to your posts perhaps they are.

Again, well done
