Can I be cheeky and ask how many hours a week you put in on it? ;)
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Hi Woodburner! To be honest, when we first got the lotty my father in law and i had to dig the beds over. Keith did more hours than i did but we were there for at least 1.5 to 2 hours a day. Once the beds were dug over we were in March and thinking about planting. These days Keith is there most days (as he is now retired and a man of leisure). I have not really been round for a good session in a couple of months due to work and weather restrictions. But realistically an hour or two a day in the peak of summer to water and weed was enough to keep on top of things! Hope this helps! Glen

Thanks, yes. There's hope for my plot still ;)
Recently cleared ground has a ton of weed seed, so needs more maintenance in the first summer or two, and I've been worrying will I be able to keep up in the summer.

You will be fine woodburner! Its just a matter of getting stuck in and you will be amazed how quick you clear it! You can always start small, i mean dig/plant, dig plant etc. Or go for a mamouth dig and cover the unused dug area with pond liner. Nothing grows under that stuff!

The red post toppers are Brittish Heart Foundation stress balls LOL, do the job pefectly!

Thanks all! Glen

Hi all, not been about much for a while. We suffered a set back with my Father in Law being taken ill. Still plodding on with the lotty though even though progress has been very slow this year as I have to juggle work, family and digging! Same as most people i guess..........

Will take some pics this weekend (if it stops raining) to show where we are this year.

Cheers, Glen
