a fellow gardener and friend of ours has started picking his brussels there a good size although i am surprised he's picking so  early because we always like a bit of frost on our brussels sprout  crops before picking has anyone ells been picking sprouts

our brussels crops are no where near ready I must be doing something wrong  :unsure:

I normally start picking mine in November.
Mid October does sound early.
Had a look at mine at the weekend and there were plenty forming, but the size of peas.

I picked a few early last year as they'd grown big (around same time as now) and looked as they were starting to blow. No danger this year, like Lettice's mine are still a bit on the small side...
