I cut my buddleia back hard last year, late summer/autumn as it had been neglected for years while we had been away. This year there has been good growth but no flowers. It should be covered in yellow pompom! And butterflies. Most necessary for pollination .....

We inherited a buddleia last year and I cut it down by a half. This year the new growth got nobbled by the frosts so cut it down again to about 18" high. Apart from a lot of very floppy new stems that we tied up, it is now in the midst of flowering. It's the usual blue one so not sure if yours (globosa?) responds the same.

We have a few buddleia, and an original white one (which reverts to blue when sold on)...

I hard prune it every year, and we get a show every time, but maybe you need to let it grow a little next year?

I think a little care over winter might help, but that's only an idea...

Usually these bloom well, unless there just isn't enough sunlight.  Could light be the problem?

The RHS recommends pruning after flowering so as it flowers early summer, you may have pruned a little late, wait & see what happens next year, you may have pruned off the flowering shoots.

My husband 'pruned' ours with an electric hedgetrimmer, they went from 12ft to about 18 inches.  If they flourished they stayed if not they went.  They stayed and dripped with blooms this year, we've got white, yellow and light and dark purple.  The yellow isn't the globulosa though.  Some are in full sun some in shade, the white one hardly gets any sun
