I've toyed with video for some time - even made some short videos with a professional about a decade ago. It didn't really work out for us and so apart from putting them online I more or less forgot.
I got some video editing software way back but it was confusing and now it's so out of date it doesn't recognise a video clip from a phone as a video!
Anyway, I've a short 10 second clip I thought to put up as part of a blog post. First problem was the file size. Eventually found some free web sites that reduce the size and some free software called handbrake that does the same on the desktop.
Now I'm more confused!
I compressed it using H264 and it went to 5Mb then I read that H265 was more efficient but that ended up as 8Mb - bigger not smaller
Then I found MPEG-4 reduced this 10 second masterpiece to 2Mb - but various sites say it's old, outdated and, like me, historical!
Anyone understand this stuff? I'm not a great fan of video, Youtube being full of 10 minute waffle videos that could be explained better in 2 paragraphs but there are some things where a video is helpful to demonstrate something.
