Another one on blight...

Hi All

Not been able to go down to the plot as regular as I would have liked this summer. Just noticed that my outdoor toms have been ravaged by blight and my spuds also show signs. Can I harvest the potatoes or are they goners ? They potatoes themselves should be quite deep in the ground, maybe a foot, so I'm hoping someone will say they're protected and they aren't all wasted? Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Yes, cut the tops off and dispose of foliage, leave the potatoes underground for a couple of weeks for the skins to harden, before digging them up
