Hi there. I’m new, so apologies if this has been covered and I haven’t found it.
My cucumbers develop with scarring. The insides are unaffected. The stems also show some scarring.
One plant wilted overnight and I had to cull it.
Dr Google suggests cucumber beetle as a possibility. DEFRA says that is notifiable - gulp!
I haven’t found any of the little blighters on my yellow stickies. They can transmit bacterial infections (the wilt?)
Pictures show the scarring on fruit and stems. The leaves have pinholes (thrips?) and the yellow margins are, I suspect, nutrient burn - I grow in a recycling hydroponic system with toms and peppers and the high EC required for them is not ideal for cukes.
Has anyone had the scarring problem? If so, how was it resolved?
Many thanks
Richard
