A bit over the top now. Although all the waterbutts are full. Possible that it will get the wild mushrooms started. Best year ever last year, dire do far this year.

I have a friend down here who really knows about everything there is to about collecting fungi and according to her this could be a amazing year for ceps IF we get the usual autumn rains. I now nothing about them and do not collect them for that reason but she says that a very dry summer followed by a good wet beginning to the autumn will give huge yields of ceps. Earlier in the summer she gave us kilos of giroles after we got a bit of rain. I think you have to know where to look for fungi... she does... but does not tell anybody else

We’ve had so much rain in Devon the last few weeks, I think my outside Toms have got the B word..shhh all leaves snipped in the hope of some ripening fruit.

My squash plants look pathetic because of the dry weather so here’s hoping they flourish now

Still no more than a splash now and then, here, needed an awful lot of watering yesterday to get some leeks in - the soil is like concrete
