I reckon a few large, light brown plastic pots are the answer, Mrs B!
Some years ago, we started buying a few terracotta pots of varying sizes, and now, a lot of them have perished in all the winter months they've had to survive!
Somewhere, a guy like Monty Don said that a decent plastic pot will do the business, and I think he's right - they weigh much less, get a certain 'patina' (dirty colour), and last for years!
When all our terracotta ones have gone, (not the glazed green ones funnily enough, they seem to be in a world of their own), we'll stick to these plastic ones - they look the same anyway!
