I have several fruit trees in my back lawn which have a circle of bare soil with a radius of about a foot. I fancy planting some winter crocuses in them but would that cause any problems for the trees?

I can’t see a problem if you can do it without damaging any tree roots.

No - a variety of bulbs live quite happily around and between my cordon fruit trees.

Hello it's a good idea if the circle of soil hasn't been weed killed if small weeds are showing in the bare soil it should be ok  jezza
