Hi

I've read somewhere about growing spuds in a mound, rather than rows. 

Has anyone ever done it?  If so, how do you do it and do you still have to earth them up?  I've never grown potatoes (being new to this stuff), but I'd like to give this a try because my plot's quite small and I think it'd take less space.

I've not heard of growing spuds in a single large mound, if that's what you mean?

I have heard of people essentially planting below a pre-earthed up row, but that can be unpredictable because the plant may just grow sideways out of the mound or come up beside it.

But never seen it done   

Or do you mean lazybed ridges like the old timers used to do?

The only mounds i heard about, is that some people store the potatoes in them. I may be wrong though x
