Unusual Crown Prince

I don't know if you can help..I planted two varieties of squash on my allotment this year - Crown Prince and American Tondo (a heritage variety). I have a number of fruits on both but my Crown Prince are yellow so far. Do you reckon they have hybridised with the Tondo?

No, any hybridisation would only show when seeds from the squash were sown. It does not affect the fruit that sets as a result of the hybridisation. Rogue seed maybe? I once grew some ‘scotch Bonnet’ chillies using seed from a garden centre and they produced very mild peppers.
