Pinching out chrysanthemums?
« on: June 12, 2020, 10:20 »
First year growing chrysanthemums and bought a collection of outdoor flowering spray chrysanthemums from Woolmans. They arrived in great shape and have grow well after I potted them up. I believe I now need to pick them out and was after advice on how to do this. I’ve seen people suggest pinching down to just five leaves, but this seems a bit drastic. Do you count the small leaves at the very bottom of the stem, or just the full size ones? What do others do who have a bit of experience with these?

Normally my picture upload upside down  so I’ve taken this one upside down in the hope it ends up correct

Hello this is the way I was taught by a chrysanthemum  grower nip the center bud out at 15 to 18 inches high this makes the plants produce side shoots  then tie in to canes jezza
