Thistles
« on: June 12, 2020, 06:35 »
Friend has an amazing patch of thistles in the garden of her new house.  Apart from napalm does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of them, the patch is about 12 foot square and it's where she wants her shed to go.

Digging them out always seem to leave some creeping roots which will regrow from under the shed, unless it's getting a concrete base, or being covered with a layer or 2 of weed control fabric under the floor bearers.
Otherwise, the napalm method  :nowink: is to strim them back a bit, leaving some leaves to absorb the Glyphosate or Brushwood killer you are going to spray them with.  Then wait a week or so, to see if anything grows and respray if necessary.
Be careful with the spray, or you may spray things you want to keep.

Thanks, there is nothing in the garden that she wants to keep with the exception of the greenhouse.  Bedevilled it is.
