My sweetcorn is out and doing well, but I've just found some cobs from a couple of years ago in a plastic bag in my cupboard.  I've taken the yellow pods (what's the word?) off and have sown them in open ground. Will they grow?  I've still got some and will try my propagator.

My plot neighbour needed hip surgery last year, so just before he went in he managed to roughly rotovate in everything that was growing on his plot to make sure he didn't lose it through being too weedy, while he was out of action.
Imagine his surprise when he was cultivating it this spring, to find lots of the 'ploughed in' corn sprouting already

THat's encouraging. I planted a shop tomato in April (whole). It's doing fine.  Same with Jerusalem Artichokes, from Sainsbury's from a packet. Some plants are like weeds and some need tender loving care....

From some good advice on here a number of years back, I started saving my own Golden Bantam seed and have not looked back since, producing great crops for last few years.
Saving is a long process and maybe what you have done will have produced some seed kernels that may germinate.

Assume they were all the same type.
Its always said not to be a good idea to mix different varieties close together as they cross pollinate and would produce a poor flavoured crop.
