Blueberry cuttings
« on: May 15, 2020, 17:52 »

Anybody done blueberry cuttings? Were they successful ? I am trying some but do not know if I am going the right way about it. I have taken some 15cm soft wood cuttings stripped most of the lower leaves and cut with a razor blade about 5-10mm below a leaf node a dip in rooting compound and then planted about 5cm below the surface of 50% sharp sand and acid loving compost mix . Plastic bag over the pot and on a window cill that get sun but not too hot... sound any good?

Sounds about right, never tried blueberry cuttings. Have you nipped out the soft young growth at the top? Might just rot in the damp atmosphere under the plastic bag.
