Can I sent strawberries in the post

Hope everyone's well in these crazy times,

Since the lockdown my sister has decided she'd like to grow some strawberries in her garden. I have loads of spare strawberries on my plot from runners (mainly elsanta) which I'd like to give to her but with current conditions may not see her for months. Has anyone ever posted strawberry plants and how did they do it? My current thinking is with a bit of soil around the roots kept moist inside a double layer of sealed jiffy bags (so I don't soak the postal depot.

I agree - that is how I received my young strawberries last year and they did fine. Just advise her to plant out and water as soon as they arrive.
