bird netting
« on: February 26, 2020, 18:23 »
I have been making up raised beds in my garden which have been great. Not so great is the fact that not only my own cats but very cat in the vicinity think they are giant litter trays. So I bought some netting off Amazon to cover them. I have just made hoops with bamboo then used a couple of long bamboo poles to which I have fixed this netting. They are quickly removable for working or weeding the beds and neither cats nor birds can get onto the beds! I thought I would mention this because the product is pretty cheap at £20 for a 2m x 20m roll. It seems to be very robust product name is Ohuhu bird netting I think it would probably deter cabbage whites too.

Thanks! Yes we love our cats but the do have a nasty habit when it comes to toilet  :(
The long strawb bed is getting taken out and another 3 of those beds are going in there then I have another large area which is going to have some more made up and another poly tunnel so that eventually I will just have an area of about 4m by 15m that will be for my tomatoes all the other crops will be above ground no dig.

The one that slept in my greenhouse was a right pain. especially when I appeared suddenly in the doorway one day, and it exited through the glass. Broke five panes, the little so and so. It ran off alright, although I expect it had a headache.
