Rootrainers
« on: February 06, 2020, 09:09 »
I'm thinking about buying some rootrainers but because I haven't used these before I just wanted to get some advise from those who have used them and if you think there  worth buying having seen them in the catalogue the 8cm cells says it allow plants to be spaced out without re-potting?

so a bit unsure if I should buy without getting some feedback from those who have used this system and how you rate rootrainers as usual you advise will be much appreciated

I've used them for years and I love them.
I use the deeper ones.

Wouldn't be without them especially the deep ones for sweet peas and beans.

I've thought of buying them but find that beans (and sweet peas) grow perfectly well when sown in standard modules, so saved my money for other things.

I find them very good as they also air prune the roots. I managed to find 2 sets of the Haznicks ones (short though) at the Dobies outlet store nearby for £1 each a few weeks ago. They last for years if you are gentle with them. I’m just replacing inserts from 15 years ago.
