hi all
I have a big pot full of strawberry plants would it be ok to split them all up and replant on allotment this time of year don't want to waste them

Do you have a greenhouse ? I had a lot of strawberry plants from runners last year at this time. I planted them up into decent sized pots using GP compost and left them in the greenhouse and then when the weather got better in early march I planted them out in a well prepared bed... what a crop of fruit we got!

Yes I have a greenhouse I'll do as you advised and see how it goes thanks for your help

Just remember to keep an eye to make sure the don't dry out and the plants should grow nicely over the winter then when it starts to get nice and warm get them in the ground. I added a bit of strawberry fertilizer when I planted them out and we got a lot of really nice strawbs.
