Many of you will know that I volunteer often at St. Barnabas Hospice near Worthing. The latest that involved me was the "South Downs Marathon Trek"
I was at the finish for the day giving out medals, sparkly wine, fruit, cake and directing people to the massages, along with taking 'photos of finishers etc. It was a long day, I was there for 7.5 hours. Hard on my feet, but not as hard for these who trekked 26 miles through the mud, up hills and down dales.
Today I have been told that all the pledges are on track, and at the moment the event has raised over £43,000, this sounds like a lot, but in fact covers 5 days of all care services to patients and their families.
The atmosphere was wonderful from both trekkers and volunteers, and the weather was kind, although quite windy. I know I bang on about fund raising, and I know how busy you all are. But please find time to make some sort of contribution, it maybe doing knitted toys, or wood turning, but it all raises vital funds. Regards and Thanks to you all. Mrs Bouquet
