Flame Weeders

What's the general feeling about flame weeders - good, bad or indifferent? And if good, which one?
I've got a couple of veg beds, stone and brick paths and gravel drive etc and I need an alternative to weedkillers. Hand weeding is almost impossible between the stones and bricks.

I have a Sheen X-100 (or now known as a X-300) that is perhaps 50 years old.  I have a motorbike, go-kart (my 14 yo son...), 4x mowers and therefore with a little kerosene and lots of oil changes, never run out of fuel!  You can buy them on eBay nearly new.  They are not designed for snowflakes or the woke generation!  A little like taming my own dragon.

I have one of the flame weeders powered by a gas can, from the middle of lidl!
They work quite well to burn top growth, so do kill annual weeds, but perennials grow back again, unless you keep at'em, until eventually even they do give up  ;)

I like mine too. Not sure what brand it is but they're all very similar.

Keeps my garden paths clear.

Hello I use to use a paraffin flame gun to weed between strawberry rows  at the end if the growing season it was a  Sheen on wheels with a 2 gallon tank and a deflector hood that blasted the heat into the ground  there's a video of a 20 feet wide one on  you tube that width might be over doing it for a domestic garden though   jezza
