hello I have been sent a scam alert email that I would like to put on this site but don't know how   the scam is supposed to be a call from the inland revenue saying that there is an investigation being opened against the recipient and that the police are coming to take the person the court house and the investigation can be called off if £850 is payed and a courier will collect the payment    jezza

Hello another scam my mother received a phone call on Wednesday saying that the warranty on her washing machine had expired and needed to pay £600 to renew it washing machines 15 year old it's well out of warranty then Thursday she got a call allegedly from the bank saying £600 had been taken out of her account and to press 1 to get an advisor  the bank says it's a big scam  jezza

Apparently scam activity has been detected on my BT line linked to my computer so the line is being terminated in five days unless BT can speak to me to resolve this

I think it more likely attempted scam activity has been detected by me on my (cable) landline phone tbh

Some scammers don't know how savvy some people can be. I've had a few recent ones including supposedly from BT but if anyone in my financial area wants to contact me they do it by letter, and even then I take it with a pinch of salt unless I know them to be genuine.

Just ignore the lot!

They never ever call like this. Put the phone down and forget them!
