Hi All!!!
So I planted some onion sets early this year. About half of them are looking strange! The leaves are curling and the plants look really unhealthy. I have found some white maggots in the bulbs. I think this is leaf miner. So do i need to get rid of the bad ones? Will it spread to the good ones?

Looks as if it's the larvae of onion fly so remove them as soon as possible.

Do you mean remove just the affected ones or the entire crop?

Just the affected ones. The others may well be OK but keep an eye on them.
 

This Onion Fly beastie also inhabits my plots an the only way I have found to avoid its attentions is to erect a tunnel of fine mesh, such as enviromesh, over the onion bed. A nuisance tbh as I have to roll it up to weed etc but better than half the onions being infected and going curyl wurly I suppose
