Hi peeps
I have found at the back of shed  nine 12" SQUARE hanging baskets but can I heck find liners for them anywhere.
They did come with liners some years ago but they have long gone now.
Looking to re-use these baskets IF I can find suitable liners or even a template to make some from a roll of something.
Anyone on here come across such liners ?

The Gc's around here sell a green mossy looking one on big rollers and you can buy it buy the metre.  Mrs Bouquet

Imteresting to find you looking Greenhut, as we were doing the same last week!

We usually use debris netting, but this year bought a couple of metres of some sort of plastic backed fibrous stuff (the GC's manager is an old friend, and we all agreed it was quite good kit), and now all I need is some sort of template to cut the stuff!

If I can't find anything, I'll design my own...

It was about £3.50 a m2.

Just flatten some black plastic (old compost bags - black side out?) over the bottom and up the sides, folding the corners like a parcel (only from inside not outside) poke a few holes half an inch or so up from the bottom, which leaves a reservoir, so they don't dry out too quickly. Fill up with compost to keep the sides and folds in place and trim the top, leaving enough to tuck the top edge under the compost so you can only see black. Jobs a good'un

You can use an old wooden jumper apparently

It sounds like Growster and I use the same stuff.   I do also use the bags to line and also black rubble sacks,
never heard of the jumpers though.   I shall have to investigate that, any more info please !  Mrs Bouquet

I’ve seen the jumpers as liners advised a few times over the years, they have to be pure wool though otherwise they aren’t absorbent. Think you just bung em in & cut to fit, cut holes or poke holes to push plants through.

I made a template after first viewing a vid on line about how to make a lining for a box. Will make some liners out of plastic bags and also some coco matting and compare both during season.

We have a local charity who post a very thin black bag through our letter box once a month for us to fill and leave out.  I have used these i n the past to make liners as they are not thick enough to use for rubbish or heavy donations.  Again I make holes in them to aid drainage as Grandsons so love watering and rather over do it!

I have been doing that for many years, works well and they last for years too.
