Protecting potatoes from frost
« on: May 04, 2019, 12:19 »
Hello. Two frosty nights in a row forecast tonight. My earlies (Rocket, Red Duke of York and International Kidney are around 8 inches high. I’m going for a combination of newspaper/debris netting and dry hay to try to avoid damage. Am curious to know what others do

I earthed-up again on Wed/Thurs, so there's only 3 or 4" showing. Temps here are only due to go down to 3C so even if there is some frost formed there'll be plenty of growth under the ridge to grow on.
