I spy with my little eye ... something beginning with C.  Oh yus, the first courgette has landed   OH was ecstatic.  Actually he rolled his eyes and groaned, but I don't care, he is eating them anyway  :tongue2:

There were also dessert gooseberries and the first of the fennel  8)  The loganberries and lettuce didn't make it into the picture, but I came home with both of them as well.

and the first of the fennel

Love the fennel in particular. What variety is this NS? I tend to sow mine later in the year to try and avoid bolting. I'm waiting for mind to bulk up a bit in pots before going out.

Fennel Finale Potty  :)  It is made for sowing early.  I have grown it twice now and had success both times.   The later sown stuff never works for me and just bolts.

An hour after painting and decorating all weekend, lots of shallots, particularly a banana variety that were planted as sets in mid October plus some spring planted red sun. Field beans off a crop of green manure that i left to grow. Chantenay red core carrots from the deep root veg bed, plus spring onions and radishes for a salad. From the fruit bed in the back garden, a bowl full of raspberries. Chuffed to bits!

Harvested my onions at the weekend which took up a whole bed over the allotment. This is my first year growing at the allotment and Iím pretty happy with the yield. I built the drying rack for them too.

The plan for next year is to start them off from seed in November under a grow light in the shed. Hopefully Iíll have a few as big as my head!

Hereís my harvest of todayís carrots, they are a pale variety but I forget the name, could be from a pack of rainbow carrots but so far they have all been pale.
Not bad for no dig carrots that had a good covering of well rotted manure added after Thewordwemustnotsay to the bed (but not dug in!) . Then the next photo is of  a second days harvest of yellow French beans with a few cannelini beans & a few peas

Picked Roma tomatoes, basil, and sweet banana peppers for home-made pizza.
I know we are in a global economy because my favorite gardening hat, purchased in the United States, was made in China by a Swiss company and has a label in Spanish.  (They all deserve their piece of the pie, wouldn't you agree? We are all in this world together.)
