Bright, but not really sunny.   But it is very breezy again.   It just dries everything out.  Mrs B

Had a really good downpour for 45 minutes this afternoon, saved me watering for another couple of days!

Having missed out completely on the rain others have reported over the past week or so, the sky is now reluctantly squeezing out a few drops - just the 1.8mm so far...  ::)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

After a few hours of steady rain, it has only dampened the top 1cm.   Bone dry under that, and under the plants and shrubs not wet at all. Ah well, back to saving the water tomorrow.  Mrs B

You surprise me Mrs B, the rain has sunk well into the beds here.

Rained solidly pretty much all day. Ended up in the polytunnel tying in the toms and pruning the pepper plants.

Some welcome rain yesterday here  as we have had so little rain, well just a few drizzly days since the last rain (7mm) on 8th May.

Yesterday went like this;
24 mm of rain from 6am til 11 am yesterday and a lovely sunny spell for the afternoon.
It then rained again from 4-6 pm and 9 pm to midnight, making a total of 34 mm yesterday.
It was then dry for a few of the early hours, but the rain and wind picked up at 3-5 pm, 3.4 mm, WSW winds of 15-23 mph and a handful of gusts 32-37 mph.

It is dry now and brightening up, wind has dropped to a breeze and looking to be dry for the rest of the weekend.

Been picking up plenty of slugs and snails this morning (rain bringing them out) from around the runner/broad/french beans, peas, potatoes and sweetcorn, but luckily all the plants are well on their way and their nibbling has not made any difference.
With the the dry weather we have had lately, I was thinking they had moved on elsewhere.
Have a bucket load of them now making nematodes for next years crop.

15c, but really blowing hard (not good when you wear hearing aids)  Doesn't feel very warm.  Yesterdays rain was very welcome.     Now bits of garden keep flying past the window  ::)   Last night the CH was on.   Mrs B

16C with bright patches, plus a few showers blowing through quickly - it's the wind causing damage atm though with blowing plants over. Starting to worry about the bean frames on the plot  ::)

A welcome 8mm of rain yesterday, and a little bit more this morning - pretty windy though, gusting up to 32mph, which is a bit of a challenge for my young bean and sweetcorn plants to cope with after only about a week in the great outdoors.  :unsure:

Only 13C, so feeling pretty chilly too.
