no, had a good look around, and the garden, cant see any anywhere . . .

i arrived wednesday afternoon, went for a look around the garden, stopped for a look in the duck house (i've already checked she said)  . . .  and i found these  . . . . .

didnt even need me long coat and magnifying glass lol

and then today  . . .  she found this whopper

put it by the side of a 'regular' sized one and it looked like this

looks like they're gettin a bit regular now !

Dave, that's great :D  And that egg is massive

One of our hens always lays bigger eggs than the other - I can always tell a Dora egg from a Daisy one.

Duck eggs make wonderful eating - apart from scrambled.  More flavour than a chook egg IMHO.  Anyone who bakes should always use for preference.

they're lovely naturesparadise   :D

i'd say they do have a stronger taste but i'd be comparing them with shop bought 'standard' eggs and i would imagine that free range hens eggs are better again than battery hen eggs - its literally years since i've had duck eggs and you forget how nice they are - really firm with the loveliest coloured yolks and really firm whites

got people queuing up already telling us ' if ya get too many i'm already saving me egg boxes ' blah blah blah lol

got to agree with Mr W.G there cos he sorta got me thinking along the lines of khaki campbells and we've not been disappointed in any way shape or form.

they're lovely birds, funny as owt, dead sociable and inquisitive and now, cracking little layers !  :D

very intelligent too, they've already decided my name is 'worms' 'food' and 'treats' lol

well the first batch got washed but only because they were mucky, the second lot were just really clean as they'd created a little nest inside the house so they weren't sat in poo lol    :D

Aylesbury Eggs for me they weigh about 4oz each 100 grams to those in new money  Had one that was 5 oz.  I made a victoria sponge yesterday and it was fab risen to 3 " per layer unlike my old pancake sponges with chicken eggs  Lovely texture very light and fluffy with a nice crisp outside.  As you can see the Gasmen working on our leak loved it :? not much left for us  :)

Wipe eggs with a cloth moistened with waterand diluted Milton cleaning fluid to kill any bugs (Munty hint that one)
Welsummer egg (quite large one) with Aylesbury eggs
