Switching insurance providers.
« on: June 22, 2018, 13:34 »
I am considering switching our home contents insurance to a different firm. I renewed it in March with our current one so can we switch part way through their yearly contract?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Usually no.  Check the T&Cs but you will likely have entered into a years commitment and at best will have to pay a penalty to break the contract, and there may be no break clause.

If you move house they will usually transfer the cover to the new place - for a fee - and assuming it a risk that they are prepared to take on.
