Just took delivery of my Mantis Tiller
« on: January 30, 2008, 00:08 »
Just received my new Mantis tiller today, just needs asembling then whoosh off I go down the lottie. I,m not really into rotovators as such and will still carry on hand digging or should i say azading, but thought the Mantis looks just the job for mixing in manure/compost etc  after the winter frosts.
I used to work in a helium gas factory, but I walked out, no one talks to me like that.

Richyrich, do you have raised beds or do you still do the rows thing? Another reason that swayed me to part with my cash is that hopefully it will me manouverable enough do till my beds which are 30 foot by 4 foot.
I wonder if you have used yours in a raised bed enviroment? What about giving a review on your personal opinion of the Mantis Richyrich?

  glad I'm not the only one  :D

Skip Rat no raised beds yet but after last years wash out it may be worth considering once I've eradicated the couch grass

I'm looking forward to trying out in the greenhouse !! when I finally get all the glass on, bl@@dy weather  :x

Works extremely well on cultivated soil turned my heavy clay soil into fluff in seconds  8)  but you have to keep moving, else it like's to bury itself on soft soil.  :D

We've used it on open ground, raised beds, in greenhouse, and polytunnel. Brilliant little machine.
If it wasn't for chemicals we'd be organic.
