ID for grub in raspberry cane

went to the allotment to day one of my raspberry canes was lying over and then i see this wot is it it was in the bottom of the cane

I'm viewing the forum on a small screen at the moment, so I'm struggling to get a clear view, but it could be a cockchafer grub.

These feed on the roots of grass, cereals and other crops, but I'm not sure it would have eaten through the cane.  It may have just crawled in there after the event.  Is it an area you cleared grass from recently?  They can live in the soil for 3 years.

Is that one of the canes you posted about before? If so it may be you have found the cause of your yellowing leaves
