Hi Folks, it has been such a long time since I visited that I forgot my password, blame it on Jim, he did something to the laptop so all passwords forgotten. I have registered under s new name, my old name was Oliveview.
I will take a lovely long read of the posts here and catch up on everybody's news.
We have not grown any veg this summer, we had a very dry winter and spring and our well was seriously low. We have had silly temps, over 40 deg, so not good, we have lost all our rose bushes this year, our fault, not watered enough.
We are still fostering dogs, we had 2 mums and their combined 11 pups! The younger ones were here when the temps got hot, so they had to come inside during the afternoon/ evening, we will remember them forever, our cabinet is wrecked at the bottom, they chewed it! Their mum is on her way to a new home today in the UK, the other mum is staying with us, to cut a long story short, she would only come to me after the others spent 3 hours trying to catch her! She is a darling, terrified of strangers.

We are grandparents, we have a ready made granddaughter (9)  and our grandson of 18 months. Life is good, just wish the £/€ were!!

I have a question, we are back to the UK next week for a wedding, we want to buy gardening vouchers, we had thought of RHS ones, but that limits where they can spend them doesn't it?  Can you still buy vouchers that can be used at other garden centers?

Happy news on the grandchildren and lovely to hear you are still doing great work with all the stray dogs.  You can still buy vouchers for use at most garden centres.  Most of the big ones carry them and you can buy them at the tills

Thanks for the reply New Shoot.  Just do not know what to get for a present, the bride likes gardening so vouchers will do nicely.

I discovered something I did not know this past spring, I thought I was being lazy, I cut the  cabbage and left the stalks in the ground, little did I know I would get lots of baby cabbages on the same plant! Good result, as cabbage are my favourite veg!

Hi Haven't been here for a while myself but remembered my password.
Prob too late now but had national garden vouchers for my birthday (big 0 one I'm afraid) and found although I could spend the paper ones anywhere I had to go online to fine garden centres that could process the gift cards.
As I said prob too late but A lovely idea as they get the pleasure of shopping as well.
