Ihave two old Howards, one a 300, the other a 200. The 300 works , or rather runs ok, but the pin which selects the forward/reverse gears has worn badly. Any suggestions for sorting it.
The 200 runs fine, has a kubota engine, got this one recently, but noticed that the gear box had no oil in it, should it? and if so what kind?
Any suggestions for getting replacement parts would also be welcome. I'm sure there must be "howie" enthusiasts out there!

Chester Hudson,    Tillerparts.com         He's got everything   (not cheap though)
If it wasn't for chemicals we'd be organic.

Hi Leligdowicz and welcome.   Gwiz should be along soon, he (and a few others know everything about stuff like that).

Roughly where in N Scotland then?

Hi WG & Gwiz, not forgetting his mates! Any info would be appreciated. Dufftown is not exactly the Highlands, you guys have it easy down there! Try 60ins of rainfall, midges, keds, cleggs, ticks and deer that leap into your garden. Location: halfway between Lairg & Cape Wrath.
Cheers  Leligdowicz

I'd be looking to convert these Howards into wind turbines mate.  Better suited to your climate than gardening.

I'm from Orkney so I know all about gales !!

For all you macho's out there try the Cape Wrath challenge. The most northerly, most challenging marathon in the UK. Not for wussies!!
