was down the lotty today and let the chickens out but then when it was time for them to go in thats when the fun started!!! Gert went in no problem but Lil just wasnt having any of it      i tried coaxing her with titbits no,tried catching her fell over and couldnt catch her ,tried shooing her that also failed then when i had just about reached boiling point and was about to ring for help she just went in by her self i think she just wanted me to run about making a fool of myself so my question is how do others get there chickens in ??? as i dont want to go through all that every time i let them out im just pleased no one was about to see me

mine go in themselves too but I guess it's different when they're in your own garden rather than hanging round at the allotment waiting for them

I've trained mine to my voice THWTW.  It's quite easy.  They know two commands

"come on, come on, come on" in a high pitched voice means quick come to me I've got treats, and they dash to me like billyo.

"In you go, in you go" in a lowering pitch while standing at their run doorway means I'll give you treats when you're in the run.

I kid you not - it werks fer me  8)

Emily is like that too so I just keep out of her safety zone and don't get between her and the run doorway.

Mine know they get their corn when they go in their run - as soon as they see me walking to the shed they're under my feet and its all I can do not to fall flat on my face on the walk back to their run.  Noodle has even been know to get impatient and fly up to my hand to eat out of the bowl!  Very food orientated
